Fashion Talk - : Original vs. Poplar designs, which is more preferred?

As always there are two sides to a coin and the same holds true when it comes to fashionable dresses. While some prefers branded and original designs, few prefer to go with latest and popular trends or styles predominant in the fashion industry at present.

What you wear eventually makes you who you are. People dress according to their likes and personality and this has stood to be true for several generations now. A recent survey that was taken suggested diversified results in this context. Originality vs. Popularity has proven to be a tight battle.

And majority of people who were interviewed feels that more than looking good as per what the society thinks in a particular era, feeling comfortable and confident in what they wear is more important. Most people apparently wear a style that they like and something that makes them feel comfortable while wearing them.

Some people suggested that eventually what you wear according to your likes makes the style all the more original. Of course, popular designs are prevalent in every era or decade, but that doesn’t necessarily mean your personality would suit that featured design. You might also feel uncomfortable while wearing it and compromise just to stand out in the crowd. Fitting of the dress is also very important. It should neither be too loose nor too tight.

"The only real elegance is in the mind; if you’ve got that, the rest really comes from it."

Looking good and stylish depends upon self confidence and right attitude. It has nothing to do with popularity of the style or the originality of the style. The best thing you can ever do is experiment with your fashion sense which projects a very daring and bold image on your part. And when you carry your style around with the right attitude, you can pull that desired outlook brilliantly.

One can conclude by stating that majority of people haven’t lost their senses and blindly followed things as per market trends. They believe ultimately, it all comes down to what you like and what makes you comfortable.

Five inspiring women over 50

We’re lucky enough to live in an age of some seriously inspirational older women, who have done much to prove that reaching 50 doesn’t mean an end to glamour, success and sophistication.

Recent research has shown that only a third of women aged 50-74 consider their age when shopping for clothes – a figure that stacks up when we consider the number of glamorous older women who have been given prominent modelling contracts for major high street retailers in recent years. This surge in 50+ role models means that older women are now investing in trendier pieces, and steering clear of the dowdy clothes that were previously the staple of the mature women.

Here are some of the women we have to thank for blazing a trail for 50+ style and glamour:

Jerry Hall

The former Mrs Jagger still looks amazing, and proves that glamour is often as simple as a slick of red lipstick. Her style is simple and chic, and includes black suits and tailored jackets.

Helen Mirren

Dame Helen has been flying the flag for over-50’s style for many years, and still looks fantastic, as some of her recent bikini shots revealed. She nails red carpet glamour by refusing to shy away from showing off her assets, without being inappropriate. She looks great in evening maxi dresses with classic accessories.

Anna Wintour

The editor of US Vogue, Anna Wintour always looks stylish and perfectly turned out. She favours tailored clothes with sharp lines, like pencil skirts, but is also known for her huge fur coats, shades and trademark blunt bob. She is living proof that style, glamour and success are more potent than ever after 50.

Kim Cattrall

In her role in Sex and the City, Kim was always the sexy one – and she’s just as glamorous in real life. She pulls off the sexy look brilliantly, with low plunging necklines and fitted dresses.

Diane Keaton

Diane is known for her stylish and effortlessly cool take on menswear, and she still looks as fabulous as ever. She wears hats and masculine tailoring, pulling it all together with a great pair of heels.

Twiggy

With her M&S campaigns, Twiggy has bounced back into the spotlight as a stylish 50+ lady. She’s been credited with helping older women feel that they can still wear fashionable clothes, and look fantastic in the process.

Fashion Talk - 25 Easy Ways To Wear Scarf

What is this DUCK BOOTS?

I really wondered what this duck boot is when I first heard about it. Did you? Why is it named so? Well it has a great sense behind. The upper section of the shoes are made using water repellant fabric called, duck cloth canvass and bottom has rubber sole. So it’s quite obvious it’s meant for rainy season and is called as the DUCK BOOT.

Way back these shoes were used as hunting shoes, comfortable to walk on snow and water. This shoe is first invented in 1912 by Leonwood Bean. He used a very interesting strategy to introduce his shoes to the mass. The very first lot of the shoes produced was handed over to his customers with a return back policy/ exchange policy. Unfortunately the first lot was not that big a success, though many customers bought the shoes, but were returned back due to non satisfaction. On this he reworked and dispatched a fresh lot to the customer’s back, which was a boom. His count for lovers kept increasing and its 100 years now that the duck book shoes are back in vogue with full swing. This time it’s not just the hunters but the college student also inn for the style.

How to look fashionable with affordable price?

Being fashionable!!! Is what all try every morning, right? Even I do. But the problem is pocket money. Which may be the same as last year and no increment, but the attires you need to pick up to keep trendy are becoming expensive every day, more than that often trends are changing. So how do we afford it?

Well let me tell you something interesting, I have sailed the same boat for some time now.
Finally today I have made fashion affordable for myself.

1. Accessories are the best way out. It gives you class when worn properly. Put on a plain tee with Denim or a skirt, high heels, a scarf around your neck, with studs. Just take care of the colors blended together. Prefer printed or contrast stoles over plain attire.

2. Tap a long chain on a plain tee and Denim combo, with a thin belt on the waist, if you have wear boots or flats will do well.

3. For a club visit, wear a plain attire may be a dress or trousers and add baling to it with earrings and may be a clutch bags and heels.

It is not always needed to buy expensive dresses. But when you have budget constraints I will suggest to pick and choose more of accessories as you can mix match and have a new look every day .Then pick up basic like solid color dresses, plain tee, dark color denims etc.

The other way to look elegant and trendy is to go for more of bright color attires, (it can be basic stuff) but the colors have a class of their own, they stand out.
